[meqjeqvu] Naked singularity bogeyman

Perhaps one of the biggest unsolved problems in astrophysics is that General Relativity predicts that naked singularities can exist but none have been observed, inspiring the Cosmic Censorship Hypothesis.  Several possibilities why:

Naked singularities might be difficult to observe: from afar, perhaps they do not look any different from regular black holes, with the bulk, or even entirety of their power output coming from a normal accretion disk.  Or, maybe naked singularities cause jets, which have yet to be explained.

A naked singularity might naturally form, but other natural forces quickly re-clothe it.  If a black hole has too much charge, it will be naked, but any object with too much charge will quickly attract opposite charges.  Not sure what forces would neutralize a black hole spinning too fast to slow it down and clothe it: maybe gravitomagnetism.
