Soon we will have many generic electronic displays all around our houses (etc.) displaying live information. The components are cheap. Maybe motion sensor to only display when someone is around.
What is the easiest way to get the information to the displays? A full web browser with Javascript interpreter, etc., seems too heavyweight, and the onboard computer will exceed the cost of the display.
Problem encompasses everything from UI to underlying protocol to configuration.
Nowadays, the scrolling LED display.
Four buttons could be enough for a primitive keyboard.
