[tdyrzuqf] Boltzmann K

an alternative to the electron volt for a small amount of energy:

boltzmann degK = 86.2 micro eV = 1.38e-23 J

eV = 11604 boltzmann degK

125 GeV (Higgs boson) = 1451 tera boltzmann degK

note that a change of temperature of 1 degree Kelvin is the same as a change of 1 degree Celsius.

chemists might care about how much extra energy a particle gets for a given change in temperature.  (but chemists also like to work with calories.)

how often do particle physicists care about a particle (with its charge expressed in units of fundamental charge) in an electric field (measured in volts)?  perhaps often, so they should stick with electron volts.

mass-energy equivalence: boltzmann degK / c^2 = 1.5361792e-40 kg
