Add to the menagerie of possible fairy chess pieces the capability of a piece to protect itself.  That is, an opponent capturing it causes an instant exchange, equivalently a suicide mission for the attacker, leaving an empty space where the captured piece used to be.

Vaguely similar to atomic chess.
