[ruocdfev] Third rank pawns

Consider a chess variant in which pawns on the third rank may move backward.

Perhaps they start on the third rank, like shogi.  Perhaps a randomized mix of second and third rank in the style of Chess960. Perhaps large boards.

Lose the initial two-square advance if on the third rank. Or keep it if playing on a 10x10 board or larger.

Castling could be eliminated.

King and Man on the back rank in initial position cannot defend pawns on third rank.
