Consider playing The Walls Minecraft PvP map but with a timer much longer than 15 minutes, perhaps days or weeks, and each player getting a vast quarter infinite world. This allows for the construction and preparation of very sophisticated attack and defense.
Aid opponents finding each other after the walls come tumbling down by providing each player with a radar/waypoint locator of the other players. You cannot hide.
Also need to also divide the Nether into quarters, and probably disable The End.
