An HTML (or XML) document is a tree. A file system is a tree. Create a web server that allows a client to navigate to and selectively download certain portions of an HTML file, as if navigating a file system and downloading a file or subdirectory.
Conserve bandwidth; let the user download only what he or she or it wants to see.
