Doc Edgerton takes a photograph of an atomic bomb blast, and (hypothetically) it comes out underexposed. "well, we have a few options: (a) increase the aperture, (b) increase the exposure time, (c) use more sensitive film, (d) put the camera closer to the bomb, or (e) make the bomb brighter. just kidding about that last one."

(I'm guessing the aperture was a pinhole, so increasing it would have decreased clarity.)
(in reality, they set up many cameras at many settings.)
