Information can't travel faster than the speed of light in special relativity, but it can in general relativity. Easiest (to describe) is through wormholes, but they require hypothetical negative matter that bends spacetime the other way.
Wormholes are typically invoked for transporting matter faster than the speed of light. Are things easier if all we want to do is transmit information? Maybe we don't need such exotic matter?
There might some trickiness in defining what is meant by "faster than the speed of light". If a light beam takes two paths to an observer via gravitational lensing, then it could be argued one (the shorter path) is traveling faster than the speed of light (of the longer path).
