Virtual sculpture in a virtual reality environment, already being explored, is very intriguing. Unlike traditional sculpture, operations such as undo and magnify are available. It is easy to rotate a partially completed object to any orientation. Dangerous or impossible tools and techniques to shape and unshape (virtual) material can easily and safely be simulated.
Finally, 3D print or mill.
Of course, analogous 2D construction on a computer screen is, and has long been, done.
