[iaixrbif] Sorting hat

A Harry Potter/Hogwarts style Sorting Hat assigns numbers, priorities, to each student.  These priorities establish a social ordering: disputes are settled in favor of the student with higher priority.  Will this decrease bullying?

Could this work in the real world?  It does fly in the face of the social ideal of equality.  Perhaps the priorities are used only rarely.

The Lucifer Effect may occur.

Numbers are better than a sorting hat directly assigning people to castes because it is more flexible to future demands of services that could only be provided by one caste.  The sorting hat induces a total order.

Similar previous idea for sports.
