The ambiguity of the standard 12-hour clock is resolved by knowing (through one's internal sense of time) which of the two blocks, a.m. or p.m., one is in.
A circle divided into 12 is a lot easier to read the correct angle of the hour hand than 24.
Can this idea be taken further? 8 hour clock aligns with work shifts, and has possibilities of expressing the hour in binary. 6 hour?
