The stronger player swaps the bishops with the knights on his or her side of the chess board (presumably black), so RBNQKNBR. That player loses the advantage of the tremendous opening theory already developed from the orthodox initial position, while the weaker player on the other side (starting from the orthodox initial position) will still be able to use many traditional opening ideas. Fianchetto onto the main diagonal becomes much more difficult, and the knight cannot immediately jump to a prime spot attacking (or defending) 2 of the 4 central squares.
Are there other Chess960 opening positions which are even weaker against the orthodox initial position?
A more radical idea is to swap only one knight and one bishop, leaving the stronger player two same-colored bishops, creating a weakness on the other color for the weaker player to try to exploit.
