Broadcast your blog or microblog (Twitter, Facebook status) over shortwave radio.
Probably want some digital encoding with lots of error correction. Bandwidth is limited, but short text messages consume very little.
We imagine a radio transmitting device that hooks directly to your computer which let's you cross-post simultaneously over internet to your blog site and broadcasts radio. Get yourself an amateur radio license first. Friends can listen with their radio and decoder tuned to the senders they care about.
Original motivation is censorship resistance. However, the things that get censored these days tend to be images, audio, and other bandwidth-intensive media.
