[yjsyqegu] Large tall buildings

The cost of a building as a function of height grows faster than linearly.

Consider comparing the cost per unit volume of a large (wide, large cross sectional area) and a narrow (small cross sectional area) building.  How do the costs scale with height? I suspect the wider building remains cheaper per unit volume.

Is our society's ability to create efficient structures being limited by the ability of real estate developers to acquire large plots of land?

Pyramid

Consider the same comparison, except for depth of underground structures.
