Consider a filesystem which generally never deletes anything. The user can provide hints that certain data are important or less important, even marking something "deleted" so it is not regularly visible.
When the storage media becomes full, an AI system kicks in to pick what to actually delete to make space for new data. It is a supervised learning task graded by how often the AI guessed correctly at what information the user would eventually want to see again in the future (perhaps through undelete actions undoing the user-marked delete hint).
