[izhxangn] Net neutrality

At first glance, enforcing net neutrality seems like unnecessary government regulation.  Let the free market decide what information will be carried at what price; those who charge higher prices for information that consumers want to transmit will lose their business.

However, tremendous economies of scale, network effects, and business practices like lock-in in the internet and telecom industries cause market failure due to monopolistic behavior.  Thus, regulation is necessary.

Also, there is a public interest of there not being restrictions to freedom of speech on the internet, but I am cynical that anyone is really willing to implement that.
