[jjnkmhmt] Chemical engineering game

Create a game that captures the spirit of chemistry and chemical engineering.  Probably simplify it from reality as it is not feasible to solve Schrödinger's equation for to simulate arbitrary chemical reactions.  But enough richness to be an entertaining game.

Make products from provided source materials.  But you are bothered by side reactions, equilibria in the wrong direction, and so forth.  Perhaps radically alter the game scenario so that it does not even resemble chemistry: first-person shooter from the point of view of an electron?

What is an "entertaining" richness for a game?  It's probably not entertaining if you mix two chemicals and the result is random; there needs to be some underlying mechanisms that the player can mentally understand and think in an engineering mindset.

Inspired by Minecraft and Spacechem.
