Prevent the spread sexually transmitted infections by preventing the infected and uninfected from having sex with each other.
Assuming this could be done, which diseases could be made extinct? Some also spread by non-sexual means. Would new diseases rapidly evolve to fill the ecological niche?
On one hand, unlike other contagious diseases that spread through more casual difficult-to-avoid means (e.g., cold, flu), this seems almost possible: sex is a very deliberate act, you do it or you don't; there's no accident.
The benefits of permanently extinguishing diseases seem very desirable. With contraception and no diseases, there would be few negative consequences of sex.
On the other hand, trying to control sex is the most impossible thing in the world.
Technology can of course help in early detection and "carrier" detection and curing diseases so people can get back into the uninfected pool.
Nowadays, information of whether you have an STD is very closely guarded private information. Can that change?
