[gjrfpftw] Unethical scientific experiments

Is it science if the experiment cannot be replicated ethically?  How should one interpret the results of a historical unethical experiment which cannot be replicated?  Should they be discounted?  There's no way to verify if it's true.

Inspired by Harlow's experiments on baby rhesus monkeys, whose results, if valid, are extremely important for parents.

It's almost as if scientific progress awaits an oppressive regime willing turn a blind eye to experiments less brutal than the actions the regime commits day-to-day.  Imagine repeating Harlow's experiments on human babies.
