in an alternate universe, explorers exploring the far north for the first time end up in the antarctic, the far south (with similar inhospitable climate). perhaps this is not so shocking, not so different from east and west looping around.
how might the rest of physics in such universe work?
can it sometimes be made to look like a spherical planet? perhaps gravity repels light, creating an illusion of spherical curvature. a beam of light starting parallel to the ground eventually shoots into space.
