color 5 sides of a cube white, red, green, blue, black. arrange many such cubes into a mosaic, turning each cube to have the face with the desired color showing. (pretty sure that the primary colors should not be cyan magenta yellow for this application because colors do not overlap in a mosaic.)
one remaining face has not been assigned a color. gray? opponent process color theory suggests yellow, though that may be the wrong theory to apply for this application.
it's almost Rubik's cube. peel off orange stickers to reveal black. mosaics of Rubik's cubes have been done.
