[bcnhpgio] French fuel tax protests and California on fire

A curious juxtaposition of news headlines, November 17, 2018:

The Camp Fire in California has killed at least 76.

Increased wildfires are of course caused by climate change, and the obvious way to decrease climate change is to increase the price of fossil fuels, but:

"One protester was killed and 227 other people were injured — eight seriously" in protests in France over fuel taxes.

We are addicted to fossil fuels.  The protests seem like the violent behavior of an addict when deprived of drug.  Any government trying to decrease climate change will have to deal with this kind of blowback, or its threat.
