Examine relationships in which (at least) one partner believes he or she is lucky / blessed to have another partner that is so good, better than what the first partner believes he or she "deserves".
Under what conditions is this harmless, a common stereotypical romantic trope? Under what conditions is it the result of successful psychological manipulation, made famous by the PUA technique of negging? How can one distinguish the two? Pessimistically hypothesize it is always the latter.
