A business adage goes, never own a business 50-50 with a partner. 51-49 is always preferable, regardless of whether one is the 51 or 49. 50-50 requires consensus on every decision, whereas 51-49 has a solid decision making procedure of last resort. Or of first resort, applicable to the many decisions in which neither partner cares strongly which alternative to do, but some decision must be made.
Does the adage also apply to marriages? Should it?
