I suspect the answer has to do with other social class markers present in the speaker, then how the totality of the social markers, including the obscenity, reinforce or contradict each other. For Zizek regarding his anecdote about "two black guys", his relevant social markers perhaps included his accent, Eastern European, a lower class marker in the United States, and the kind of bookstore he was signing books at, one which two black guys felt comfortable entering, one not plastered with the latest incarnation "Whites Only" signage, which many bookstores do, seeking only a certain kind of clientele.
