Distribute a document in pre-rendered (source) form to allow the content to be modified, analyzed, processed, reformatted for different output devices and applications.
Distribute it in post-rendered form to decrease the processing requirements and time for the reader.
Don't want to distribute both because of hosting storage requirements.
Inspired by, PDF seems too often used.
