There is a fundamental difference in philosophy between simulation games which do and do not incorporate a random number generator (those which do not are rare, though Conway's Game Of Life is the original sim). Those which do not respect the question, "why?", while those which do have a random element encourage ignorance about how the world works.
But God does play dice with our own universe...
