A thief steals a cell phone and immediately tries to turn it off to thwart it being tracked. Let the power button have various protections and traps to thwart this.
For example, unless the unlock code is entered, it only pretends to turn off.
Slightly tricky because we do want a hard "power off" capability when the operating system has hung. Non-removable battery becomes a feature.
