Consider permitting previous nonviolent social protest as a legal defense for a subsequent violent act of social protest, otherwise branded terrorism. The larger the previous nonviolent protest, the stronger the legal defense. The general idea is it should be permitted to move on to louder forms of speech if nonviolent forms are being ignored.
