[fecixbro] Bean-counting copyright policy

The thesis is that the entertainment industry has too large an influence in shaping copyright law, that the public good effect of weaker copyright would actually outweigh the losses to the entertainment industry.  How can we quantify this?

What is "the entertainment industry"?  A great many people watch news as entertainment, politics as NASCAR.

How can we measure the public good effect?  GDP?  Then it becomes absolutely critical to know if GDP is missing something important.

I suspect people will be just as entertained.
