It's too bad that the moon's libration and phase are in sync (or appear to be, as seen on graphics on Wikipedia). If they weren't one could gain more time information by combining the sunlit phase with the libration phase; perhaps unambiguously define a moment in time in the 18 year cycle just by a picture of the moon.
