TAI atomic time ought not be expressed in days, months, and years as it is now, because it is not intended to remain in sync with with the daily rotation of the earth or yearly orbit around the sun (like UTC currently is). That is confusing. Instead, it should be notated as seconds in an epoch, like Unix time or Julian days.
