Instead of a single ringtone, create a family of different ringtones but all similar enough that you will recognize any tone in the family as your phone, assuming other people choose other families.
The different ringtones are assigned to different contacts. By default they are automatically assigned randomly, and you can learn by ear which tone corresponds to which person, without having to look. (But you can organize who gets which manually, if you wish.)
