[zwnsazxh] Random timed chess

The players are placed in separate rooms and play by wire.  They play with standard clocks, but with a twist.  For every move, there is also a hidden countdown timer with a random amount of time.  They don't know when the time will expire, so they must always announce what their current best move is, say, within 5 seconds, but they are allowed to change their minds as often as they want until they press their own clock, or the hidden timer expires, at which point their announced current best move is played automatically, and their clock is pushed for them.

The benefit of this format is the audience gets to see their thought process and how their moves improve over time.

Since they are in separate rooms, we could also give them an analysis board, perhaps electronic (but no engine, of course!) to further see and record their thinking.  It will be a UI challenge to design an analysis board (keeping track of variations) that is intuitive enough to be used in a live game.  Plus it provides "action" to watch instead of the players just sitting and thinking.
