An impressive design for a hypothetical Rube Goldberg machine involves two (or more!) parallel sequences of actions which must all end up together at exactly the right moment: e.g., one long sequence ends up launching a ball, the other causes a bat to swing, the bat hits the ball into a target, continuing the machine.
