[wbgofoaz] Better indirect initiative

Ballot initiatives lead to stupid politicized debate and stupid things being enacted into law.

Assuming legislators are more competent at making law than the mass of the people -- (we should elect such people!) -- better would be a ballot initiative to force an issue onto the legislative calendar with special high priority so that no parlimentary tricks, e.g., burying in committee, indefinite tabling, filibuster, can prevent taking a vote.

The people can then examine the vote, or more importantly, examine the hopefully intelligent debate among legislators, to decide on re-election.
