[yxdiuhqx] Babies are like sponges

"Be careful what you show your children, for they will quickly show it back to you." "Your children are always paying attention (even when you wish they were not)."

Like language acquisition, this is clearly an important skill for babies to have.  Does it mostly turn off for most people, like language acquisition?  Does it not turn off for some people?  Can we identify those people?  The ability to be always paying attention, always being malleable enough to pick up new skills seems very advantageous in modern society.

Is it Sherlock Holmes?
