the Moon has texture. Venus has phases. Jupiter has moons. Saturn has rings. there are many stars, much more than 7, in the Pleiades. there are many, many stars in the Milky Way. the Sun has spots.
all of these were discovered soon after the invention of the telescope: the early history of the telescope is practically useful for deciding what astronomical objects are the most exciting to observe with a small modern telescope or binoculars. Galileo has already tried looking at everything for you.
(Galileo went blind observing the sun directly with a telescope. don't be like Galileo: to see sunspots without repeating his mistake, project the telescopic image of the sun onto a surface.)
