if the next bit to encode is a zero, modulate the song to the relative major or minor key. if the next bit to encode is a one, modulate to the parallel major of minor key.
other common modulations: half step up (or down), parallel mode, circle of fifths, especially subdominant.
bitrate will be slow, but a skilled improvisatory musician could encode data on the fly.
