[jyzflumf] Nutrition and placebo

The placebo effect is (probably) very strong in nutrition.  If you think you are eating a less healthy version of a product, even if it is scientifically indistinguishable, your health will actually decrease.

Inspired by stories of poor people insisting on paying the price premium for organic food, thinking it is healthier.  Unfortunately, they are probably being rational, having become trapped into paying more for the placebo effect.  If they were to switch to food that is not organic, food that they believe is less healthy, they will suffer a real decrease in health due to the placebo effect.

Should such a practice of consumers getting "locked in" be regulated?

Previously.
