Consider a Rubik's cube solving competition in which the scramble is published far in advance, providing contestants with the opportunity to learn and practice solving it as fast as possible.
Obviously a short solving sequence found by computer is good, but the human contestants might prefer a slightly longer one that is easier to execute rapidly.
For larger cubes, both discovering a short solving sequence and memorizing it may be interesting challenges. Perhaps prefer a longer sequence that is easier to memorize.
