One buys the same service from two different suppliers in hopes of redundancy in case of failure of one supplier. How can one know if it is truly redundant, and not both suppliers reselling a common supplier? Such business agreements are often kept secret: we need transparency, possibly regulation mandating transparency.
Such lack of redundancy is often only discovered after a failure at the common supplier, with both resellers then simultaneously declaring failure.
