[pluzsdzq] Schoolcraft settles

Despite Adrian Schoolcraft's earlier statements that he would take his cases to trial in order for the truth to come out, he settled.  Enumeration of possible reasons why:

  1. He ran out of energy or interest (which overlaps with some of the possibilities below).
  2. He ran out of money (which would be a shame, given public interest in seeing the case go to trial and the truth come out).
  3. He was coerced by his own lawyers, who are risk averse and prefer to settle.
  4. The truth he wanted to see get out he saw got out without a need for a trial.
  5. He has become convinced that the truth he wanted to see get out will never get out, even at trial.
  6. He has been coerced to settle by the opposition, namely the NYPD.

The last two are sinister.  How might they be done?
