Heard frequent anecdotes of one's communication ability dropping only when communicating with a romantic partner. This seems paradoxical because mutual lust/love should provide a feeling of a buffer to disagreements: one has evidence that it might not be as important as the mutual lust/love.
Examine this psychological effect. What causes it? Why is it stronger in some people?
It might be biological: certain parts of the brain have evolved to turn off to propagate the human race more.
It might be rational, reflecting social effects of the difficulty of finding another romantic partner. This could be tested by seeing if there is correlation.
Of course, lack of communcation causes relationship problems.
