Store a object for a long time inside a sealed container, for example a time capsule. We especially want the container to be watertight. How should the container be constructed? What should it be made of?
We need a nonreactive material that is not too difficult to work with and not too valuable (or else the container itself will become a target for theft). The old school material of choice was lead; are there modern metals or materials that are superior, e.g., aluminum or stainless steel?
How can the lid of the container be sealed to stand the test of time?
