Completely cover a large region with congruent circular discs in a hexagonal tiling pattern. There will be overlaps. To estimate how much area is covered by some large number of discs, use pi*r^2 as the area of one disc, with pi = 3*sqrt(3)/2 which actually gives the area of a hexagon.
For what inscribed polygon is pi equal to 3? Non-regular?
