Adopting a child is very difficult and expensive in the United States, inducing Americans to adopt children from overseas. Why? Should it be? It obviously has direct bearing on the abortion debate. The foster care system is reportedly stressed and unhappy.
Perhaps deep issues about owning another human being. Perhaps deep issues about the propagation of power, culture, and social values through family.
