An entity, perhaps philanthropic, creates convenient travel between (say) two points, probably by bus. Philanthropic because it will probably lose money initially, even indefinitely, or otherwise market forces would have already created that transit. How much can just one transit route change the world? It seems curious that this seems something that someone could do unilaterally. It could affect settlement and business growth patterns, ultimately creating demand for more transit. Will settlers be wary of relying on philanthropic transit that could disappear at any time? How will conservative forces react to someone trying to change the world?
