[vsftpvur] Coloring the squares in a golden rectangle

Consider the infinite sequence of squares inscribed within a golden rectangle. What periodic pattern of colors applied to the sequence avoids adjacent squares of the same color?  It looks like a cyclic sequence of 5 colors suffices.

For a 4-coloring, it looks like A B A B C D C D A B A B C D C D... suffices.
